Washing Hair: Keeping my hair extension clean is very important to make it last longer. Before washing my hair extensions: I brush my hair and remove all tangles and knots then I wet a small portion of hair at the time and I use a good detangling shampoo, and a rich moisturizer. I distribute shampoo and conditioner evenly throughout the hair. I always wash my hair going in a downward motion.
I always apply a deep conditioner to my colored or permed my extension. If possible I let my hair air dry; I also try to avoid too much heat and over processing.
After washing and conditioning my hair, I apply a good leave -in conditioning product, this always help keep my hair super soft and moist.
Styling: Virgin Human Hair is very close to my own natural hair. I basically do anything with it; I perm it, color, brush, comb and flat iron it to any style just like my natural hair. Bleaching is not recommended.
I do not color your my own hair extensions at home; I always bring my hair extensions to a professional colorist.
Exercise & Swimming: I always wear a cap when swimming, or try to keep my hair out of the water, I put my hair up or in a ponytail when I am exercising.
I try to see my stylist every 6 to 8 weeks. Removing the hair weave is necessary to treat my own hair. Depending on how well I take care of my weave, sometimes I return to my stylist after 4 weeks just to get my weave refresh, tightened and washed/Styled.
Hand Tied Wefts Hair:
I have used the hand tied wefts hair a lot and I love it because the hair lays flat and flows naturally. The finish is very natural and beautiful. However, the hand tied hair sheds much more than the machine wefted hair. You must never cut hand tied wefted hair. If you have purchased hand tied hair please advise your stylist before applying hair. For any question please email us at contact@misspaulettehair.com
